A Writer Without Words
By Michelle Yu

What is there new to say?

Maple tree drained of its sap…

That’s me. Not sure there is anything left. I have filtered 40 gallons of sap into 10 litres of poetry this year… is there anything left to say? The maple tree grows again; it brings forth sap next year. But I wonder – did I drain too much this year – this year’s worth of lifeblood? There is nothing new left to say – all my experiences are upon the page – and perhaps… nothing left to live for, for to be a writer without words… is an unspeakable thing.

Michelle is a poet and writer who dabbles in the minute and moving. She writes from her heart.
