Tulle Times Two
By Sarah Boland

The tulle around my waist is bouncing; a rabbit springing about in a January meadow where hunting has been banned. Or maybe something larger: a kangaroo hopping with her young joey in the dreamy rain. I press on my favourite gold shoes with the slight heels to begin my walk. The tulle flies in the air as white petals flash by and pink rings of sunset linger on the Collingwood sidewalk. Entering the halting tram, he stands on my same carriage with tulle around his wrist, awkwardly holding the filthy stabilising handle, and I couldn’t imagine a man more clean.

Sarah F. Boland is currently based in Collingwood and in their second year of a creative writing Bachelor of Arts at Unimelb. They're a poet, novelist, and essayist in the extremely early stages of a career that they wish was fruitful. They also love glitter, colour, and long walks.

In the Breeze of Paris
By Amelie Yong

In the breeze of Paris, there was floating shallow water. It made people’s hearts
feel warm just like the sky.
Every day, the people danced with laughter. And the water swayed and sweffed.
One day, the people didn’t dance with laughter. There are sometimes fights in
Paris and they argued not to laugh anymore.
After that, there was no more fun, like laughter or play or games.
There was no more swaying. No sweffing.
Finally, they got back the dance and laughter. They swayed and sweffed. They got
it all back by being nice.
So it kept going and going.

Amelie Yong is a 7-year-old writer based in Melbourne.
