Darkest Destiny

Like a naughty spoilt child not knowing cruel jokes hurt, a bookcase once belonging to the ship’s feisty captain stands alone, vacant, but three photos put there by Charles, Second-Officer, wore a grimace as dark as death.

The middle shelf shows a picture of a woman, eyes shining like blue gems fished fresh out of the Atlantic, she’s holding tightly to a dog named Lady; two other pictures is of Lady wearing a diamond heart-shaped collar, a boarding card held in gloved-hands, reads…
